Watford band The Spitfires have dropped their latest track, ‘I’ll Never’. The track is a swaggering, memorable rock track filled with influences that range from punk and indie to ska and reggae. Its chunky bass lines and organ-laced accompaniments underpin Billy Sullivan’s lyrics about self-destruction that are typically delivered via impressively catchy hooks. “This track tells the story of someone who numbs their pain with alcohol and drugs instead of opening up about what they’re going through,” they explain. “These ‘vices’ are used as an escape, but the real issues never actually go away. There’s still a huge stigma, especially among men, around talking about mental health. I’m not preaching.
